IMPORTANT NOTICE: Upcoming Changes to Facebook Login Process at MultiverseOnline.io Website
Upcoming Changes to Facebook Login Process at MultiverseOnline.io Website
In response to the recent issues with the Facebook login on MultiverseOnline.io, we are taking proactive steps to update our login system. Starting this weekend, we will be adding an 'email login' feature to all Multiverse accounts.
This means that if you registered at MultiverseOnline.io using a social account (such as Google or Facebook), you will soon have the option to also log in using a traditional username and password. We will notify you once the fix has been implemented, and then you can simply follow the regular 'create account' procedure. It's important to note that if the email/password combination matches an existing social account, they will be automatically merged into one consolidated account.
For those currently using Facebook to log in, there are several scenarios to consider:
Single Facebook Login with Email Access Granted: If this is you, the transition will be smooth. Just set up and verify your account with a username and password, and the system will take care of the rest.
Single Facebook Login without Email Access: A bit more complicated, as we lack the means to directly link you. The short-term solution may be to detach your account from Oculus and allow re-linking to a fresh one. This won't be an option for users with paid Metaverses, but if you've made a payment, you likely provided an email at that point.
Multiple Logins, Same Email, Automatically Mergeable: If you have more than one login but just one associated with Oculus (and maximum one with paid Metaverses), we're designing an auto-merge process. We aim to incorporate a feature to request your consent before merging.
Multiple Logins with Conflicting Details: For users with several accounts tied to the same email but linked to distinct Oculus accounts or multiple paid Metaverses, the merge process gets complex. You'll be among the few 'problem accounts' we've identified. Rest assured, we'll reach out directly to find an optimal solution tailored to you.
In the meantime, waiting for Meta to resolve the Facebook issue remains an option. Unfortunately, the timeline for this resolution remains uncertain given the complexities with Meta.
We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause. On a brighter note, this evolution will usher in the often-requested feature allowing users to transition from social logins to email-based access.
Thank you for your patience and understanding,
The FTL Team
