Exciting Announcement: Major Upgrade to Our Core Engine!
Hey there Multiversers!
We are thrilled to announce that we are finally ready to implement a significant upgrade to our core engine, a project that has taken longer than anticipated but is now ready to roll out on Monday, 24 June 2024. This upgrade is a crucial step in ensuring the continued stability, sustainability, and enhanced performance of our platform. We truly appreciate your patience and support throughout this process.
Why This Upgrade?
While many apps built on older versions of Unity continue to perform well, we decided to upgrade to a newer version of Unity because it offers specific features critical to the future progression of our app. Enhancements like application space warp and serializable texture arrays are essential for integrating new features and improving overall performance.
Key Changes to Expect:
New Blocking Feature: Ignore User functionality replaced with the highly anticipated ability to block a user; hiding them and the blocker from each other, and preventing interactions between them.
Day-Night Cycle: Experience dynamic shadows, window lights, and a starry night sky.
Wrist Menu: Faster and slicker world map on the wrist menu.
Visual Overhaul: Infiniverse, Grand Central, the Home Room, and our overall branding have undergone major renovations.
Enhanced Graphics: Better visuals for the entire Planetarium in particular.
New Cyber Building Skin: Fresh and futuristic aesthetic for your town planning.
New Plot Editor Options: Brand new editing options, including autumn trees, new jetpack obstacles, and world towers.
Technical Enhancements:
Increased Stability: Improved performance especially during busy periods and for users with multiple properties.
Expanded Memory: Substantially larger memory capacity for loading images and content.
Clearer Display: Ability to turn down fixed foveated rendering, resulting in a clearer screen at all times.
Thank You for Your Support
Upgrading our core engine was necessary to ensure we can continue delivering top-notch updates and features. This process involved substantial engine changes, especially considering the infancy of VR hardware when Multiverse initially shipped. So we are therefore overjoyed (and quite relieved!) to finally be ready to deliver an enhanced and more stable experience.
THANK YOU for your continued support and understanding. We are committed to delivering the best experience possible and are excited to continue forward on this journey with you!
