Announcement: Land Purchase Available For The Top Investors From 17th October

We are extremely excited to announce that we are planning to release the first version of land sales as part of the Property Development feature, from the 17th of October (provided there aren't any delays)

In the meantime here is a brief overview of what to expect:


Who can purchase land from the 17th?

  • The top investors from within a postcode area of Infiniverse, will be invited to purchase the areas they are the most invested in. 

  • The top investor in a plot of land is the person who has purchased the most properties (including apartments, penthouses and storefronts) within the plot and its neighbors.

How long do the top investors have?

  • Anyone that meets the  top investor criteria will have 2 weeks from the 17th to purchase their land. After the 2 weeks, anyone in Infiniverse can purchase that land.

How do we know who the top investors are?

  • Within each postcode area/purchasable Land plot, there will be a plinth which will display the top 3 investors in that plot. This plinth will also display the plots purchase status i.e for sale/sold

  • This plinth can be clicked to bring up a menu with more information on the top investors

  • The minimap also has information on the top investor on each plot.

How much will land cost?

  • The pricing model will be geared towards a fairly high base price’ for land, with lots of discounts applied down to a minimum of 5,000MC (roughly $50)

Current discounts likely to make it are:

  • New starter bonus: Large bonus applied when buying first few plots (eg 90% off first plot)

  • Prior investment bonus: A modifier is applied to any MC you’ve spent on apartments in a plot and is immediately discounted from the cost of the plot

  • Population bonus: Discount for population (i.e. apartments owned) in neighboring plots you own. I.e. encourages building up of a plot, moving people in, then expanding it.

  • Gentrification bonus: Discount if you’ve made neighbouring plots prettier (eg adding statues)

Currently predicting the base price to be around 100,000MC, with additional cost for existing populated areas. But discounts awarded for early investment and development of neighboring plots will probably allow people to buy plots massively cheaper

What can property developers currently do?

  • This is early access to a feature that is in development. At launch you will immediately start earning MetaCoin as users buy into your properties, however there are no alterations you can make to your plot currently.

  • As we continue to develop this feature, property developers will have the ability to shape and evolve their land. For more details please watch the video we recently released

  • We intend to release features that allow users to customize their plots starting December and roll further changes out over the coming year.

Things to keep in mind:

  • In the initial two weeks, only the top investor will be able to purchase the land. However, if you are lucky enough to be a top investor, you should act quickly as you are not guaranteed that top investor spot for the full two weeks - if someone else buys more property than you they can oust you as the top investor and purchase the plot before you.

  • This feature is still in development and we will release more features and abilities to users over time

  • Currently any already developed plots will have limitations on what can be done to them. These limitations will for example stop someone removing a beloved unique statue or knocking down a building where users are already residing.

  • If you have created or helped create a community district, you do not need to purchase the plot of land it's on to protect or retain it. Your community development will not be able to be removed, the property developer will only be able to improve the land. The worst that could happen is your community district will remain the same as it is now. Best case it will be improved by a loving property developer.

  • Most buildings in infiniverse are of the “unlimited” type, where they have infinite growth potential. However, note that these may require you to upgrade them once their current growth capacity is met. In other words, currently, “unlimited” buildings are owned by FTL and grow based on “levels”. These levels contain a capped number of apartments which, once the cap is reached, requires an upgrade. With land sales, the land owner will become responsible for upgrading the levels to increase the cap. Whenever that cap is reached, the land owner will need to purchase an upgrade to unlock the next level and add the additional floors until the next building cap is reached and another upgrade is required. These upgrades will increase in cost as the number of levels increase.

  • After the day land sale launches, New purchases do not count towards the “investor discount”. This ensures that discount manipulation cannot occur 

Hopefully with this information top investors can make a better assessment of what area’s they would like to purchase from October 17th. But keep in mind, after those 2 weeks, all unsold plots of land will become available to EVERYONE in Infiniverse and each person will have their own set of discounts.
